Frequently Asked Questions

What time should I arrive and where is the Ropes Course located?

The TRAC program will provide you with a full schedule of activities. You should arrive at least 15 minutes before the program begins. The Ropes Course is located on the FIU Biscayne Bay Campus next to the Kovens Conference Center (KCC). Once on campus, follow signs to Kovens Conference Center and TRAC. There is free parking in the KCC parking lot. The Ropes Course is located directly to the right of the building, inside the chain link fence.

What should I wear?

All TRAC program activities are held outdoors on the course. The Ropes Course is located next to a mangrove preserve on Biscayne Bay, and although we do benefit from the sea breeze, it can be quite warm. Dress for athletic activity (t-shirts, shorts, and sturdy tennis or running shoes). You will also want to bring a hat and sunglasses and a waterproof sun block.

Will we have breaks during the day?

We will take several breaks during the day. Please remember to drink water during all breaks so you will remain properly hydrated. Water will be provided to all participants, but you are encouraged to bring an extra supply if your group is large.

Is food available, or do we have to bring our own?

During full day programs, a lunch period of 45 minutes to 1 hour will be scheduled. You can bring your own lunch, contract with a caterer, or have Classic Fare Catering, located right on campus, serve your group. Classic Fare has many alternatives to chose from, and is very familiar with TRAC groups’ needs. To contact Classic Fare, call 305-919-5004.

If you decide to bring your own lunch, keep in mind that there are no storage or refrigeration facilities, so bring coolers and items that don’t spoil easily.

Our TRAC program is part of a conference, training, or longer event. Are there any meeting facilities nearby?

The TRAC program is managed by Wolfe University Center (WUC) staff. The WUC is the student center on campus and besides services such the bookstore and a cafeteria, it features a convertible ballroom, a versatile theatre, and affordable meeting rooms available to the general public.
